This industrial, loft, or warehouse design is a sublime precedent of working with the existing architecture, not against it, this approach gives a comfortable, calm and interesting interior design. This converted warehouse is an excellent example of working your design in with the history of the building.

Subtle splashes of red appear throughout this house this stimulates the colour scheme and gives a focus to an otherwise busy design.

the black white and grey colour palette with touches of red as in the brick wall or the flowers keep this otherwise busy area focused. I love the letters on the wall and the timber door.

Black on the wall adds interest and layers to otherwise mono- chromatic outside area.

To juxtapose this luxurious bed against the rough unadulterated brick wall is poetic for me this is the perfect bedroom.

Love the new patches on the wall have been allowed to show and will blend in with this stunning wall.

Again red shows its head, the darker grey  ingeniously painted lower half brings the wall height down as you would do the opposite to make your ceiling higher.

The first day of spring here in Australia, this post is a collection of Boho, vintage, loft and warehouse styles that all work together and reflect a wonderful relaxed personality, again these looks could be achieved using second hand fabrics, and furniture.

The colour pallet is sublime, the concrete wall is a work of unadulterated art it shows the history of the house and there is no need for art on the wall as the wall is art.

A great example of a plain white wall where good art adds texture, depth and dimension to the room imagine this room without the art.

boho warehouse or loft style

This bohemian lounge room  a concrete floor painted grey, white walls and vintage furniture with floral cushions these styles work very well together and could be reproduced on a limited budget.

Boho style with curtains made from scarfs.

This warehouse, loft  has such a comfortable feeling with the vintage bed one would not want to leave this space it is so inviting.

To make this bust wire up a frame desired size and paper mache a thick layer of newspaper "I use wallpaper glue" allow to dry and seal with shellac which will give it its aged appearance, if you cant find shellac use coffee though it will not be as archival as shellac.

Eclectic Artist House in Spain, a combination of vintage with a bold mix of colour gives this home its on personality which reflects that of the owner.

This floor gives a wonderful warmth to the room though I would have trouble keeping it clean, when I paint.
To juxtapose these paintings with in front of each other gives the room depth and draws the viewer in to the next room, a surprise around every corner.

Today its an explosion of vintage and and secondhand collections from my house. Though the paintings on the wall are my paintings the other items are a composition of purchased items. A vignette of treasures I have picked up at my beloved junk shop the most recent the pink hibiscus tapestry and the blue ink painting. I have said in recent posts I don't pay a lot of money for my loved treasures, but I cherish them as if I did. I hope you enjoy them, please leave a comment and tell me what you think.

The stunning hibiscus tapestry is my most recent purchase also the globe, about $2.00au. The beautiful floral cushion is one of two,  these were soaked them in nappy soaker and washed twice and left in the sun.

The portrait is an oil, I did a few years ago of a Lismore girl, who was great model. The white sideboard was a very dark teak, I needed more light in the kitchen so I painted it white and sanded back to give it a rustic look.
The two candlesticks were once a table leg which I cut in half and stained black, cost about $4.00,  another tapestry and old painting were from the same junk shop I think I lashed out and they were about $12.00.

The enamel teapot my girlfriend gave to me as she was having a spring clean, I soaked it in vinegar  and washed out, perfect for a pot of tea.

I have had the suitcase for a year my girl friend Julie picked it up and gave it to me I think she knows me well, on the council verge cleanup, which happens twice a year here.

More cushions from the junk shop

This beautiful cushion my partner and I bought from a souk (market) in Rabat, Morocco we bought 4 cushions and a large carpet from the weaver, from the Riff Mountains.

The blue ink painting is on of my recent purchases on Monday with the tapestry also that blue and red cushion from the same shop early in the year , the red foot stool a vintage piece $4.00, it was happy day that day.

Closeup,  do you like the pink tapestry? it was thrown out at the local tip, the junk shop has salvage rights that is why they are so reasonably priced.
Cardboard and leather suitcases have been a obsession of mine for about 20years they are now reasonably hard to find, but you can still get them a garage sales etc.

Happy weekend I have posted some of my paintings and drawings, so this will give you an insight in my psyche maybe a bit scary but here it is. I am a passionately inspired by the 20th century modernists particularly the American expressionists., De Kooning, Helen Frankenthaler, Diebenkom, Motherwell, Pollock, Georgia O'Keeffe. I consider Kees Van Dongen one of my greatest influences, his portraits, the intense colour and expression of his painting is poetic. I will update a some more paintings in the coming posts hope you enjoy.
